To be eligible for nondegree admissions, you must have the following:

  • Graduate Application for Nondegree Student

  • Nonrefundable application fee:
    • U.S Citizen: $70 (effective May 1, 2009)
    • Non-U.S. Citizen: $90 (effective May 1, 2009
    • In addition to the normal application fee, a $50 non-refundable late processing fee will be charged for ALL applications submitted on or after the dates indicated below:

Note: Once the late processing fee period begins, applications will not be processed until all fees have been paid. Both the application fee and the late processing fee are non-refundable.

Note for Full-time ASU Employees: The employee will be responsible for any applicable late processing fees.

  • Applications will not be processed until the fees are received.

  • U.S. bachelor's degree or equivalent from a regionally accredited institution. Transcripts and test scores are not required for admission as a nondegree graduate student.

  • Non-U.S. citizens (residing in the USA) must provide proof of USA visa/immigration

  • Note: Nondegree study is generally not available to international students on F1 and J1 visas. For exceptions, prior to applying you must obtain written approval from your Principal Designated School Office granting permission for you to concurrently enroll at Arizona State University as a nondegree student.


    DEADLINES AND NOTIFICATION FOR NONDEGREE ADMISSION
    Nondegree applications must be submitted at least one week prior to the first day of classes.

    LIMITATIONS AND RESTRICTIONS ON NONDEGREE STUDY
    Nondegree students are limited to taking a maximum of 15 hours in one semester. There is no limit to the total cumulative credit hours you can take. However, there is a limit of credit hours you may apply towards a degree program if you decide to seek an advanced degree. Up to nine nondegree graduate-level credit hours taken at ASU prior to admission may be applied to master's degree requirements.

    Nondegree study may be restricted by certain academic units. Please contact the degree program for restriction information.

    Note: Financial aid is not generally available to nondegree students.
