The Explore Graduate School Seminar Series Program and The Princeton Review are partnering together to:

  • Provide ASU prospective students with the resources, programming and assistance necessary to achieve their graduate school aspirations,
  • Increase the ASU community's awareness of the services the Graduate Colleges provides and enhancing those services that pertain to graduate school counseling and admissions testing, and
  • Empower ASU students by helping them develop the confidence and skills necessary for a comfortable transition and success in competitive graduate programs

Getting Into Graduate School: General overview for all majors

Description: This workshop focuses on how to decide if graduate school is right for you, how to choose schools, and what's needed to market yourself to graduate programs as a desirable candidate.

Financing Graduate School: National Graduate Fellowship Workshops

Description: The Graduate College and the Office of National Scholarships in the Honors College sponsor workshops for students interested in applying for the Javits, National Science Foundation, Ford, and Harriett Jenkins (NASA) 3-year graduate fellowships.

This workshop is for ASU students only — graduating seniors, first-year graduate students, and second-year graduate students. Faculty mentors are also welcome to attend the workshops.

Financing Graduate School: Attention Science, Engineering, Technology and Mathematic majors: SMART Program (Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation Scholarship for Service Program)

Description: The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) is proud to offer scholarships to undergraduate, master's and doctoral students who have demonstrated ability and special aptitude in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines. Through this program the DoD offers one of the most generous scholarship packages in the country and one-of-a-kind opportunities to work as a civilian scientist/researcher in a DoD laboratory after graduation.

Description: The ASU Graduate College and the Princeton Review are excited to offer these FREE workshops that will focus on general and problem-specific strategies for the GRE. This seminar will introduce you to the GRE and provides you with the tools and resources to prepare for the GRE, a standardized test required for admission by many graduate programs. An experienced instructor will present and work through sample problems representative of the various question types, and discuss useful strategies.

GMAT Weekend Preparation Course

Description: The Princeton Review is excited to offer ASU students and participants of an Explore Graduate School seminar four 4-hour sessions split over two Saturdays. This schedule covers every aspect of strategy for the GMAT exam. The schedule assumes homework and a practice test to be accomplished between the sessions. It would be compatible with assigned pre-work before the first session. Each session is divided into hour-long units.

Cost: $495 to ASU students and participants of an Explore Graduate School seminar. Payment will be expected at time of RSVP confirmation.

Math Boot Camp for the GRE and GMAT

Description: This session is devoted to the basic math that is tested on the GMAT and GRE. The point of the session is not to discuss test strategy, but to cover the math concepts that most students have forgotten or not practiced in many years. Topics include: integers, even and odd numbers, properties of zero, positive and negative numbers, absolute value, factors, multiples, prime numbers, the order of operations, fractions, decimals, percentages, algebraic equations, and more.
