- The American Educational Research Association Minority Fellowship Program is awarded to enhance the competitiveness of outstanding minority scholars for academic appointments at major research universities by supporting research and by providing mentoring and guidance towards completion of their doctoral studies. This program is targeted for members of groups historically underrepresented in higher education (e.g., African Americans, American Indians, Alaskan Natives (Eskimo or Aleut), Native Pacific Islanders, Filipino Americans, Mexican Americans, and Puerto Ricans).

- American Indian Graduate Center (AIGC) Graduate Fellowships are designed to open doors to graduate education for students who are enrolled members of federally-recognized American Indian tribes or Alaska Native groups in order to help tribes obtain the educated professionals they need to become more self-sufficient and exercise their rights to self-determination.

- American Political Science Association Minority Fellowship
The American Political Science Association established the Minority Fellows Program in an effort to increase the number of minority Ph.D.'s in political science. The fellows program identifies and aids prospective African American, Latino(a), and Native American political science graduate students, and encourages institutions to provide financial assistance to them. - Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival (FLEFF) Fellowship
Graduate students from underrepresented groups who are interested in careers in higher education (regardless of discipline) can apply for a fellowship to attend the Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival (FLEFF), a multimedia inter-arts extravaganza. Ten fellowships will be awarded to cover complete expenses. The festival is held at Ithaca College and in downtown Ithaca, New York.
Award: All expenses including funding for travel, a festival pass, and room and board for three nights and four days.

- Ford Foundation Predoctoral Diversity Fellowships are designed to increase the diversity of the nation's college and university faculties by increasing their ethnic and racial diversity, to maximize the educational benefits of diversity, and to increase the number of professors who can and will use diversity as a resource for enriching the education of all students. Students may apply as undergraduates or as first- or second-year graduate students pursuing a Ph.D. or Sc.D.
Award: $20,000 and a $3,000 award to the institution in lieu of tuition and fees

- Ford Foundation Dissertation Diversity Fellowships are designed to increase the diversity of the nation's college and university faculties by increasing their ethnic and racial diversity, to maximize the educational benefits of diversity, and to increase the number of professors who can and will use diversity as a resource for enriching the education of all students. - The Fund for Theological Education: North American Doctoral Fellows Program is open to talented doctoral students traditionally underrepresented in the fields of religion or theology who already are enrolled in programs leading to the Ph.D. or Th.D. degree and nearing the end of their studies. Candidates must show a commitment to teaching and scholarship, demonstrate high academic performance, and possess capacity for leadership in theological education.

- Government Finance Officers Association of the U.S. and Canada: Minorities in Government Finance Scholarship is for graduate students in public administration, (governmental) accounting, finance, political science, economics or business administration (with a specific focus on government or nonprofit management) who belong to one of the following groups (as defined by the U.S. Census Bureau): Black or African American, American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian, Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander, Hispanic or Latino. The student may be a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S. or Canada.

- Korean-American Scholarship Foundation (KASF) Scholarships are awarded to students currently enrolled in a full-time graduate programs. The scholarship recipient is selected on the basis of financial need, academic achievement, school activities, and community services.

- NASA Harriett G. Jenkins Predoctoral Fellowship Program (JPFP) provides full-time underrepresented graduate students in science, technology and education with financial support for their education in NASA-related disciplines.
Award: Up to three years of support including stipends and tuition offset. Annual stipends for students pursuing master's degrees start at $16,000. Annual stipends for students pursuing doctoral degrees start at $22,000. Regardless of the degree pursued, annual tuition offsets start at $8,500.

- National Institute of Health (NIH): Ruth L. Kirschstein National Reseach Service Predoctoral Fellowship Awards for Minority Students (F31) are provided by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB), the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD), the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), and the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) for doctoral-level training to applicants with the potential to become productive, independent investigators in their scientific mission areas.

- Nonprofit Sector Research Fund (NSRF): William Randolph Hearst Endowed Fellowship for Minority Students seeks to introduce students to issues relating to philanthropy, volunteerism, and nonprofit organizations. As part of the award, the Hearst Fellow serves as an intern with the fund.

- Northeast Consortium for Faculty Diversity Visiting Dissertation Scholars Program enables graduate students (U.S. citizens) from underrepresented minority groups, who are approaching their dissertation-writing stage or already in this stage, to spend a year-in-residence at the host campuses and have opportunities to build community with all other Scholars in the program. The program director coaches the Scholars on dissertation-completion, the academic job search, and preparation for succeeding in the professoriate.
