The following merit-based awards are available through the Graduate College (GC), although some may require you to apply through your department:
- ARCS (Achievement Rewards for College Scientists)
The ARCS Foundation is dedicated to helping meet our country's need for scientists and engineers by providing fellowships to academically outstanding students who are United States citizens in need of financial assistance to complete their higher education, thereby contributing not only to the advancement of science, but also to the material and intellectual welfare of all people. Eligible academic units will be notified by Graduate College each year with nomination requirements.
- DeMund Memorial Scholarship provides a $2,000 fellowship. More info...
- GC Completion Fellowships reward academic excellence, aid completion of the doctoral or MFA degree, and allow the student to complete his/her dissertation/project. More info...
- GC Dissertation Fellowships are competitive university-wide fellowships designed to support highly meritorious doctoral students who are in the final stages of post-candidacy doctoral work. More info...
- GC Doctoral Enrichment Fellowships are competitive university-wide fellowships designed to enhance recruitment of highest quality doctoral students who will contribute to the achievements of diversity in our graduate student population. More info...
- GC Need-Based Fellowships are need-based awards that provide up to $10,000 of support to regularly admitted first year graduate degree students who are Arizona residents or underrepresented in their discipline. More info...

- Tripke Scholarship. The Earl A. and Lenore H. Tripke Professional Workshop Travel Awards provide up to $800 to support doctoral students who have been invited to attend prestigious professional development workshops.
