Minutes from the February 22, 2005 East Graduate Studies Council Meeting
Present: David Schwalm (Chair), Kate Mahoney, Larry Olson, Filiz Ozel and Pam
Open Discussion:
On-line Graduate Programs - This can and is being done at this time. It
is up to the individual departments as to whether a program will be
offered on-line or not.
Problems with the IRB process - Exercise and Wellness is
finding it difficult to get through the system in a timely manner. They
are looking for solutions to smooth the process and to make things run
more smoothly. David Schwalm will check into the use of a courier
system so that departments will no longer have to use the mail service
to get their documents to the Tempe Campus.
Status of the Graduate College's ability to
do format reviews via electronic copies - This service is not available
at this time. Filiz Ozel will speak with Maria Allison and Sonya
Lindquist to get the most current information. She will also check into
the possibility of setting up an online template for use by graduate
students.
Graduate College's Webpages -Listing of
thesis, dissertations and graduate seminars - Filiz Ozel has offered to
speak to the Graduate College's IT person to get more information about
what it would take to do this. David Schwalm will speak with Gary
Kleemann about this issue to see what possible solutions might be
available at the East Campus.
