How to Apply

Please follow the instructions provided to complete, edit, print, revise and submit your Online Application as noted on the web site with a paper copy delivered to the Graduate College that same day. Applicants must complete graduate degree requirements (master's or doctoral-level degree) from an academic institution formally accredited by an accrediting organization recognized by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education within the specified time frame of September 1, 2007 to August 31, 2008.
Assessment Process
After an applicant is nominated by the school, selection as a PMF Finalist is first based on the nominee's Online Application and Resumé Builder, including the Accomplishment Record. Please note that the Accomplishment Record is a critical step in an assessment process to help determine PMF Semi-Finalists. This determination is performed by OPM. Please be sure to take the time needed to carefully review, revise and complete this section based on the instructions provided. Final submission of this Online Application with the Accomplishment Record is the first opportunity applicant's have to present their accomplishments to an assessment panel. Once the nominee's electronic application is received by OPM, a pre-assessment will be conducted based on documentation provided in the Accomplishment Record portion of the student's application. After this initial review process, Semi-Finalists are invited to participate in a structured assessment center process during the months of January and February 2008. Based on these scores, and any veterans' preference adjudication, nominees are ranked and notified of their PMF Finalist status in February 2008.
