November 2, 2009: for travel between February 1, 2010 and May 31, 2010
April 1, 2010
: for travel between June 1, 2010 and August 31, 2010
July 1, 2010: for travel between September 1, 2010 and January 31, 2011

Purpose

The Earl A. and Lenore H. Tripke Professional Workshop Travel Awards provide support doctoral students who have been invited to attend prestigious professional development workshops. These are not intended for national or international conferences for which regular Graduate College Conference Travel Grant support is already available.

Award

up to $800

Eligibility

Applicants must be regularly-admitted graduate students, enrolled in a minimum of six graduate-level credit hours, and in good standing with their academic units and the Graduate College.

Application Process

Please submit documents electronically to Pat Saldivar at psaldivar@asu.edu, Office of Associate Vice Provost Andrew Webber:

1. Include a brief proposal addressing the benefits of the workshop to the student's professional
development and a description of the workshop including your name and ASU ID.

2. Include letter of acceptance from workshop organizer (electronic notification acceptable).

3. Evidence of co-sponsorship (and amount of financial support) by the student’s department or some
other unit on campus.

4. Letter of support from department chair or dissertation committee chair attesting that the student
in making good progress toward degree.
5. Unofficial ASU transcripts.

6. Complete budget.
Students sponsored by the Tripke Travel Awards must submit a one-page report to Associate Vice Provost Andrew Webber no later than one month after return from the workshop. This report should outline their activities at the workshop and the benefits of workshop involvement for the student’s professional development.
