TA/RA Tuition Remission

Teaching and Research Assistant/Associate (TA/RA) Tuition Remission

• In order to be eligible for tuition remission a student must begin the TA/RA appointment within the first 5 weeks of the semester, and the appointment must be a minimum of 25 percent time (10 hours per week).
  
  
• TA's/RA's with 50 percent time appointments (20 hours per week) receive full tuition remission.
  
  
• TA's/RA's with 25-49 percent time (10-19 hours per week) receive tuition remission covering the nonresident portion of tuition (if applicable) and a 50% reduction in the resident portion of tuition.
  
  
• In order to be eligible for tuition remission during the summer a student must hold a TA/RA appointment at a minimum of 25 percent time (10 hours per week) for a minimum of five weeks.

Economic Recovery Tuition Surcharge

• TA's/RA's whose employment begins in the first 5 weeks of the semester with appointments of 25 percent or greater will be exempt from the Economic Recovery Tuition Surcharge in 2009-10.
