
Students receiving major fellowships will be exempt from the Economic Recovery Tuition Surcharge in 2009-10. A major fellowship is defined as an award that provides both student stipend and tuition for either the academic year or one semester. In order to receive an exemption a student with resident status must receive a fellowship with stipend and tuition totaling a minimum of $17,128 for the academic year ($8,564 for one semester). A nonresident student must receive a fellowship with stipend and tuition totaling a minimum of $25,246 for the academic year ($12,623 for one semester).
