Introducing Joshua Brooks, Program Manager for Distinguished Awards & Graduate Fellowships

The Graduate College, and Barrett, The Honors College welcome Josh Brooks to a newly created position to advise both postdoctoral researchers and graduate students who are applying for nationally competitive scholarships and fellowships, including dissertation and postdoctoral awards. Josh is an ASU alumnus (B.I.S., 2008) and holds a Doctor of Law from Cornell Law School. Throughout his career, he’s become adept at securing competitive academic positions and awards as a doctoral candidate and post graduate. While in law school, he distinguished himself by publishing in one of the world’s highest-ranked law journals and by serving as General Editor of the Cornell Law Review. Upon graduation from law school, he capitalized on this success by securing a competitive two-year academic fellowship on an interdisciplinary university-wide research Initiative at Cornell where he served as the e-Government Fellow—teaching law students, researching, publishing, and representing Cornell University’s interests in legislative initiatives in New York City. Josh has also represented corporate clients as a law associate at Littler Mendelson P.C., one of the largest law firms in the world. He has multiple publications across several interdisciplinary fields in various peer-reviewed journals. In addition to advising graduate students and postdocs in the immediate future, Josh will also help to develop and implement a new streamlined and comprehensive distinguished awards program that will be jointly administered by the Graduate College and Barrett, The Honors College. Josh can be contacted by email at joshua.d.brooks@asu.edu.
