Career Navigators is a cohort-based career exploration and transdisciplinary competency development opportunity for doctoral students at Arizona State University.
Doctoral students who participate in the Career Navigators program will be matched to a cohort of 10-12 fellow students in a related academic field.
All cohorts will:
Attend panel sessions with ASU graduate alumni;
Participate in subsequent workshops on 21st-century competencies;
Develop an Independent Career Development Plan
Bimonthly alumni-led career talks allow participants to learn how adaptive skill sets featuring transdisciplinary competencies are the gateway to diverse careers outside academia.
Led by panels of ASU graduate alumni, these talks are opportunities for current graduate students to learn about how alumni across a variety of career sectors and levels have leveraged the transdisciplinary competencies gained in graduate education to survive, thrive, and advance professionally. Attendance required at all four sessions.
Competency workshops let participants refine their own individual career development plans (ICDPs) while honing their transdisciplinary competency skill sets.
Students must be:
Enrolled in a Ph.D. program at Arizona State University
Interested in creating an Individual Career Development Plan
Able to participate in all four Alumni Panel Career Talks and all four Competency Workshops
The application for the 2020-2021 cohort is now closed. Admitted students will be notified of selection in mid-September.
