Entering UGF (block grant) awards

Graduate College provides academic units with an annual allocation of resources (i.e., block grant) to be used as University Graduate Fellowships to facilitate the recruitment and completion of the most diverse and high quality PhD students.  Allocations for the upcoming academic year are provided to Deans in early January. If you have questions about your unit's allocation, please contact your Dean's office.

Units need to enter the information into GPortal Financial ( to ensure that student receives funding. For information and a training guide on entering awards into GPortal Financial, review the Peoplesoft Gportal Financial Student Awards Process Guide.

Deadlines for entering awards and tuition awards

Fall 2019 (term code 2197):     November 1, 2019

Spring 2020 (term code 2201):     March 20, 2020

Summer 2020 (term code 2204):     May 15, 2020

If the student's academic unit and awarding unit are not the same, the academic unit is responsible for entering this information. The awarding unit will need to contact the academic unit to enter the award.
