Three distinguished awards to apply for this summer

AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellowship

This highly competitive application opened May 1, with a November 1 deadline. Applications are only accepted through the online application system, and applicants must be U.S. citizens and have a terminal scientific degree in social or behavioral sciences, medical or health sciences, biological, physical, or earth sciences, or computational sciences or math. For any field of engineering, applicants may either have a terminal degree or a Master’s degree plus a minimum of three years of professional engineering experience.

There are opportunities four types of policy fellowships, which may be in the legislative, judicial, or executive branches.

United States-Israel Educational Foundation Fulbright Post-Doctoral Fellowship

For the 2019/ 20 academic year, the United States-Israel Educational Foundation (USIEF) seeks to award eight Fulbright Post-Doctoral Fellowships for American postdoctoral scholars. The grants are open to researchers in all academic disciplines and support programs of work in Israel for up to 20 months (two academic years 2019-20 and 2020-21). Candidates must have received their PhD degrees no earlier than April 2016. Application deadline: August 1, 2018

Humanities Without Walls National Predoctoral Career Diversity Residential Summer Workshop

The residential summer workshop will take place in Chicago, Illinois July 15 to August 2 for 30 select doctoral students interested in learning about careers outside of the academy and/or the tenure track system. Each fellow will be provided mandatory residential houses and receive a $5,000 award to cover travel to and from the summer workshop, most meals, and all incidentals.

Eligible doctoral students must be nominated for this fellowship by their home institutions, and only one nomination may be made to HWW by each university. ASU deadline for submission is August 31, 2018.
