Call for Applications to the 2018 Knowledge Mobilization Impact Awards

In today’s knowledge-driven world, it is critical that researchers and scholars make their work accessible beyond their disciplines to maximize their impact across multiple audiences and contribute to the public good. Knowledge Mobilization is a conceptual framework in which to view research that allows for the researcher’s work to engage with a diverse audience in order to maximize impact and influence societal change. Knowledge mobilization brings discovery to the public, puts it directly in the service of solving social, economic, technical, and cultural problems, enriching the sciences, arts, industry, and cultural discourse. Knowledge mobilization marks the link between research and change, between the academy and the publics it serves.

The Graduate College seeks nominations for the second annual 2018 Knowledge mobilization Impact Awards which showcase research knowledge and how it can be mobilized through innovative means. Research knowledge is mobilized through innovative means and media, and includes the utilization of many different methods. Knowledge mobilization products may include, but are not limited to, TED-style video recorded talks, blogs, podcasts, op-eds, infographics, art exhibits, and performances.
