Community-based interventions and family-focused strategies can help reduce rates of diabetes in at-risk, minority youth. Postdoctoral researcher, Erica Soltero works with Latino youth, their families and their local community partners in the Maryvale, Phoenix area to understand the relationship between activity, inactivity, nutrition and strategies to combat the risk for Type 2 Diabetes.
