Schools thrive when families and teachers work together. Maria Paredes, EdD, Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, changed the face of learning inside and outside the classroom with her nationally recognized Academic Parent-Teacher Teams (APTT) program. Replacing the standard parent-teacher conference, APTT consists of specific structured parent-teacher team meetings, shared classroom and student data, setting 60-day academic goals, and skills coaching. APPT aligns curriculum, instruction, and assessment to advance student achievement. Since 2011, APTT has impacted over 280,000 families in at least 22 states and been adopted in more than 12,000 classrooms.
