Student-designed Spanish immersion clinical residency. Tanya Carroccio, DNP, while a graduate student led an effort of DNP students in constructing a clinical residency and language-immersion experience in Panajachel, Guatemala. Designed to meet curriculum and professional goals, the experience also taught the students to better respond to patient medical needs through a cultural understanding. The student experience provides a model for future immersion clinical residency programs.
