2020 ASU Salute to Service events honor veterans, service members and first responders during November
For nearly a decade during November, ASU has honored those who have served and contributed to our nation’s defense. This tradition was aligned with Veteran’s Day on November 11 and developed under the banner, ASU Salute to Service. This November is no exception. However, ASU is broadening their focus to also include those serving on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes teachers, first responders, nurses, doctors, firefighters, public servants, workers in nonprofit organizations and other essential workers.
Salute to Service activities and events
This year’s Salute to Service offers a multitude of engagement opportunities and events for everyone in the ASU community - both in-person and virtually. Everyone is invited to join the Salute to Service festivities, which include military appreciation events, performances, panel discussions and activities sponsored by student clubs. The signature event will be a virtual concert with the Gin Blossoms on November 8.
Nominate your service hero
We recognize that Service to others is what makes a community strong. ASU West will recognize individuals in our community who have impacted lives during this global pandemic as well as those with military service. We will be accepting nominations for your Service Hero through October 30, 2020. We will celebrate those nominated in a ceremony at ASU West on November 17, 2020.
Send your support
Send your support for students working on the frontline including first responders, military, healthcare workers, educators, postal / delivery workers and other industries. ASU will turn your words of support into cards.
