Accelerated Master's Award to support Arizona residents is launching fall 2024

The ASU Graduate College is proud to announce the Accelerated Master's Award, which supports Arizona residents in their pursuit of higher education.

The award is explicitly targeted at students enrolled in accelerated master's programs who are looking to complete their undergraduate and master’s degrees simultaneously. An estimated 500 students qualify for this award in the fall 2024 semester. Eligible graduate students can receive up to $1,500 per semester for up to two semesters.

To qualify, students must have completed their bachelor's degree, be actively enrolled in an accelerated master's program at ASU for a minimum of nine credits, maintain a 3.0 grade point average, and be Arizona residents.

This award underscores ASU's commitment to fostering accessible pathways to higher education. "We are thrilled to launch the Accelerated Master's Award, reflecting ASU's unwavering dedication to providing accessible and affordable education to Arizona residents," remarked Elizabeth Wentz, vice provost and dean of the ASU Graduate College.

The Graduate College contacted eligible students in June with instructions on accepting the award. Students who accepted the award will have the award applied to their student account this academic year.

"We created this award with the hope that it would give students in Arizona an opportunity to continue their education at ASU” said Katrina Roalson, executive director of business services and administration at the Graduate College. “We want to empower students to realize their aspirations of attaining a bachelor's and master's degree through an accelerated master’s program.”

Financial constraints should not hinder anyone's educational aspirations, and this award is a step towards adding more master’s degree holders to the Arizona economy.
