Become an Applied Innovation Intern through the Graduate Immersion Program
The Office of Applied Innovation is seeking graduate interns for an immersive training program in which students will be able to advance their own project(s) in a collaborative, interdisciplinary, and mission-driven environment.
The Office of Applied Innovation is dedicated to expanding access to educational and economic opportunity by identifying and applying emerging scientific, technological, design and policy innovations to the communities they serve. Graduate students considering this internship should be interested in advancing this mission.
What is the Graduate Immersion Program?
The graduate immersion program places students in a 30-week, 20 hour per week position that reports to sectors within the Office of Applied Innovation. Interns will receive a stipend of $11,000 in the spring semester and $6,600 over the summer semester.
Over the course of the program, graduate interns will be able to advance their project-based ideas, develop mutually beneficial partnerships, and participate in professional development and training opportunities among other things.
Graduate Intern Applied Projects
Interested applications should have an applied project in development. Ideal graduate intern projects are those which align with the mission of the Office of Applied Innovation, will produce a clear deliverable or result to present within the 30 weeks, and are situated within the context of the possible outcomes and potential benefits.
For example, developing a tool that assists formerly-incarcerated individuals with access to re-entry resources or working on a technology tool that would improve reading and writing for K-8 students would be considered ideal projects.
