Fall info sessions: A guide to fellowships and grants for graduate students

Are you interested in learning how external fellowships and grants can support your graduate studies and research? Consider attending one of ONSA’s monthly information sessions on how to start finding funding sources that align with your specific objectives.

Session Dates:

Applying for fellowships and grants is a crucial aspect of any graduate student’s professional development. Beyond the potential funding, the application process helps you improve your grant writing skills, practice communicating your research and goals to diverse audiences, and gain mentorship from faculty and other campus resources.

Join the Office of National Scholarships Advisement (ONSA) and Dr. Mitch Hobza, ASU’s Senior Program Manager for Distinguished Graduate Fellowships, for an introduction to applying for competitive fellowships and grants. This interactive session will introduce tools and resources to help you locate and apply for fellowships and grants that support various aspects of graduate development, such as research and writing grants. The session is open to all graduate students.

In this Introduction to Graduate Fellowships and Grants, attendees will learn:

  • Strategies for finding fellowship and grant opportunities
  • Tools to assess which fellowships and grants best suit your current and future needs
  • Best practices for crafting strong applications
  • Available resources at ASU for advising and writing support

All graduate students are welcome, but early-stage students are especially encouraged to attend, as planning is key to creating strong applications.
