Funding for graduate education: Introducing the Office of Strategic Graduate Enrichment
Launched in August 2018, the Office of Strategic Graduate Enrichment (OSGE) offers a new approach to working with the ASU academic units to advance the growth and success of their graduate programs. The OSGE works with the academic units to achieve two strategic objectives. First, to secure funding for three focus areas—curriculum innovation, professional development and training grants. Second, to build and advance a networked graduate education community among ASU units and industry.
“This initiative brings a unique opportunity for collaboration with the ASU community to bridge ideas and capabilities and create best-in-class graduate programs,” said Alfredo J. Artiles, dean of the Graduate College.
The Office of Strategic Graduate Enrichment is led by Jill Lemna. She joined the Graduate College in April and brings her 15 years of research, operations and business development expertise to advance this new initiative. Her primary responsibilities are to work with the academic units, identify priorities and assets and ensure success in securing funding in the three focus areas and promote an interdisciplinary environment of collaboration.
“I am energized by the potential the OSGE will bring to the ASU community with our focus on strategic collaborations and funding opportunities targeted to providing academic units access to resources to build and grow their graduate programs and attract more students to ASU,” said Lemna.
If there is a desire to evaluate any ideas, objectives and resources related to enriching graduate programs in order to be more competitive, email Jill.Lemna@asu.edu, or call 480-965-8536.
