Q: What is your name?

Estibalitz Ezkerra Vegas

Q: Where are you from?

Bilbao, in the province of Bizkaia, Basque Country

Q: Where do you work at ASU?

School of Historical, Philosophical and Religious Studies

Q: Where did you earn your doctorate?

PhD in Comparative and World Literature, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign

Q: What does your research focus on?

My research involves interdisciplinary, transnational, and comparative approaches to the politics of memory and the demand for justice in cultural production in post-conflict territories such as the Basque Country and Ireland. 

Q: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I am a first-generation college graduate. I have four sisters and brothers (I'm the second child) and in my spare time, I like to read, go to the movies, theater, museums, bike and hike. I'm looking forward to doing the latter two when the weather gets cooler!

Q: What are your career goals? 

I'm interested in securing a job that will allow me to continue pursuing research and teaching and to also develop public humanities initiatives.
