The Graduate College hosted its fall semester blood drive with Vitalant on Monday, Sept. 15, at Creativity Commons.

I’m excited to share the results from our Blood Drive! Thank you to everyone who donated! I noticed several Graduate College team members on the sign-in sheet when I went for my own donation.

Roll up your sleeve: Graduate College hosts blood drive

August 25, 2025

This fall, we’re starting the semester with a chance to make a real difference. The Graduate College is hosting our annual blood drive with Vitalant on Monday, September 15, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The bloodmobile will be located at Orange Mall, near the Creativity Commons.

All donors will receive a voucher for a free pint of Fresh Frozen Custard, compliments of Culver’s. Donors have a chance to win one of two $10,000 gift cards!** Terms and conditions apply; see vitalant.org/SeptGiveaway.

There is an urgent need for life-saving blood right now, and your donation could be the one that saves a life.

Am I eligible to donate?

If you’re in good health and meet the general eligibility criteria, chances are you can give blood. Even if you’ve donated before, you may have questions about eligibility if you:

  • Recently got a tattoo
  • Traveled abroad
  • Take certain medications

Thanks to updated FDA guidelines, more people are now eligible to donate than in the past. Sexual orientation is no longer part of donor screening—only questions about individual risk factors matter. Vitalant encourages and welcomes blood donations from eligible donors regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. So if you’ve ever been told you weren’t eligible before, it may be worth checking again.

Visit donors.vitalant.org and enter the code P2K98 to reserve your spot.

Every drop counts. Every donation matters. Join us on September 15 to be part of something bigger than yourself.

Grad15: Individual Development Plan Tools

Career planning isn’t a one-time decision. It’s a journey that evolves with your goals, values and life circumstances. Whether you’re just starting a graduate program or nearing the start of your professional career, your priorities might change. Understanding how to make good decisions about career is just as important as the decisions themselves. That’s why using tools like Individual Development Plans (IDPs) can be so helpful. They give you the structure to assess, reflect and plan intentionally.
