Stackable graduate education offers a digestible way to earn a master’s degree — in bite-sized pieces that fit your evolving life journey.
You can start by earning a graduate certificate or microcredential in an area that interests you, then expand it to a master’s degree by sharing the completed credit hours. Or, you can earn a master’s degree and a graduate certificate at the same time.
Two certificates to MAS degree option — Complete two graduate certificate programs and combine them into a Master of Advanced Study (MAS) degree, giving you the ultimate flexibility to build your own master's degree.
Certificate to master’s degree option — Complete a graduate certificate and apply the credit hours towards a master’s degree program.
Microcredential to master’s degree option — Complete an approved ASU microcredential and apply the credit hours towards a master's degree program.

Not all credit hours of certificate or non-credit credential coursework may overlap with the master’s degree.
