Events vary from in-person to virtual, or oftentimes both. Registration is required for both event formats.

  • Postdoc Lunch and Learn: Writing a Research Statement

    Writing a research statement for an academic job application can be very challenging. Much of what goes into your research statement is also on your CV, so how do you know what to include in the statement? Professor Michael E. Smith will be on hand to talk about what he looks for in a research statement when he's screening applicants, and he'll answer all your questions about what to say and what not to say.

    Join us for the 3rd Annual Postdoc Appreciation Breakfast to kick off National Postdoctoral Appreciation Week, and to celebrate each other’s great accomplishments and hard work.   • Postdoc Lunch and Learn: Social Media for Academics

    One of ASU’s most prolific twitter users is Dr. David Shiffman, who is a research associate and former postdoc based in Washington D.C. He goes by the handle, @WhySharksMatter, and has nearly 60,000 followers. Dr. Shiffman will be sharing his tips and tricks for having a successful social media following at this Lunch and Learn.

  • Arizona Postdoctoral Research Conference

    As part of the 2021 National Postdoctoral Appreciation Week, join us for an afternoon of research and networking at the 3rd Annual Arizona Postdoctoral Research Conference. The event has adopted the theme, “Potential for all research to promote equity and inclusion,” and will include a keynote lecture by Dr. Michael Johnson, biology professor from University of Arizona.

  • Postdoc Lunch and Learn: Writing a Teaching Statement

    Some postdocs have little or no training on how to teach, and simply teach how they were taught. How do we address this when we have to include a Teaching Statement in our application packet?
