ASU Graduate College announces new Pandemic Impact Award

In seeking ways to best support ASU graduate students during the current pandemic, the Graduate College is pleased to announce the creation of a new award to help ease some of the unanticipated financial burdens due to COVID-19 as well as some flexibility with our summer travel award funding to continue supporting professional development during ongoing travel restrictions.

Pandemic Impact Award

The Graduate College has established the Pandemic Impact Award to assist graduate students with unanticipated research and academic costs associated with COVID-19 and pandemic response. The Pandemic Impact Award is intended to assist students whose research or culminating projects have experienced unexpected financial impact due to COVID-19 closures. Applications accepted through June 14, 2020.

Please note - Applicants must be enrolled in campus-based/immersion graduate degree programs in the Spring 2020 semester and in good academic standing. Applications must have all required documentation for consideration. Requests for funds outside of the intent listed above will not be considered, students requiring emergency funding due to COVID-19 should contact deanofstudents@asu.edu.

Funding for virtual / remote development

While ASU travel restrictions remain in place, the Graduate College will allow students to apply directly to our “Travel Award” funds to cover registration costs for online/remote conferences and training related to your research/studies which occur from June 1, 2020 - July 31, 2020. Read all details on the Travel Award Application Form.   The initial deadline to apply is June 12, 2020, and we will continue accepting applications on a rolling basis should funds remain.

Please note – at this time, we are only accepting applications for activities taking place during June and July.  If this period is extended, the Travel Award website will be updated.

If you have questions on either of these opportunities, please email gcfellowships@asu.edu.
