Knowledge Mobilization Studio open for Spring 2019 registration

Are you looking for an opportunity to hone your approach for mobilizing your research? Knowledge mobilization is an excellent way to enhance access to and use of your research. In a competitive job market, this can be the extra edge your post-degree career needs.

Knowledge Mobilization Studio is a one-credit course providing graduate students and postdoctoral scholars the opportunity to learn and use a knowledge mobilization framework. This approach enables scholars to make their work accessible to end-users and promote the application of their work.

The Knowledge Mobilization Studio offers scholars at all stages in their academic program an opportunity to find a supportive and collaborative learning environment. Scholars use a knowledge mobilization toolkit to design a knowledge mobilization project based on their own research. Babak Rezaeedaryakenari, a recent fifth year PhD graduate of political science said, “[Knowledge Mobilization Studio was] very helpful. I could systematically think about research questions and how I can convey and transfer my knowledge beyond the academia.”

Lindsay  Owens, graduate student in Art History found the knowledge mobilization framework and design template both challenging and rewarding. She said “[the framework] helped me find the reasons behind my product and help produce something from my research.”

Guest speakers often include experienced researchers and group activities challenge students to think deeply about concepts and practices that optimize access and use of knowledge within the academy and beyond.
