Awards and funding opportunities

Spring and summer travel awards

If you plan to travel to present your research in spring or summer 2019, start planning now. The Graduate College funds two travel applications per program, regardless of degree, every quarter.

These awards, offered in amounts up to $500, reimburse graduate students for airfare and/or registration costs associated with professional/research conferences and workshops. They are not meant to cover per diem, accommodation or other travel-related expenses.

To apply, eligible graduate students should first submit an application to their academic unit for evaluation and prioritization in accordance with their unit’s established criteria.

Upcoming travel award funding deadlines are as follow:

  • Friday, November 30, 2018 – deadline for travel January 1 through March 31, 2019
  • Friday, March 1, 2019 – deadline for travel April 1 through June 30, 2019

For more information on eligibility and requirements and to download the electronic application, see the Graduate College Travel Awards page.
