In 2018 the Graduate College relaunched the interactive Plan of Study (iPOS). This iPOS is the result of nearly two years of effort by the Graduate College, University Technology Office, and multiple student, staff, and faculty focus groups and testers. As a result of this work, the ASU Graduate College has been recognized as a PeopleSoft Innovator at the Oracle World Conference held in San Francisco.
Watch this video to get an overview of the iPOS and how it will support you as you navigate your degree requirements. Please keep in mind that the iPOS functions as an agreement between you, your academic unit, and the Graduate College. Submit your iPOS by the time you have enrolled in 50 percent of the minimum credit hours required for your degree program.
Consult with your academic program advisor to determine what coursework applies to your program and is required on the iPOS.
Update your iPOS as you progress through your degree requirements
An approved iPOS must be on file prior to completing comprehensive exams, thesis/dissertation.
To access your iPOS, log onto MyASU, and look for your My Programs box on the right-hand side. Choose iPOS under the program and then select “Graduate Interactive Plan of Study.”
You will find instructions for submitting the iPOS in the How-To Guides.
If you have an extenuating circumstance that warrants an exception to policy, your petition can be submitted through your iPOS. All petitions are first reviewed by your academic unit and then will be reviewed by the Graduate College. The Graduate College has the final say on the approval of your petitions. If you are completing your iPOS and a petition is automatically prompted, you are attempting to add/alter your iPOS that breaks a policy set in place. Please contact your academic unit with any questions.
