KM Spotlight

The KM Spotlight Grant shares graduate student and postdoctoral stories and perspectives around a particular theme.  This call leans on the writ of the Knowledge Mobilization Initiative to highilght graduate student and postdoctoral research at ASU, particularly applying and disseminating research for broad audiences and social impact.  The KM Spotlight awards small grants to students and postdoctoral scholars modeling innovative solutions to the challenges they face, and publishes these stories to the Graduate Insider blog.    Read below for more information about the themes we've explored so far this academic year, as well as information on current or upcoming calls.

Social Justice, Equity and Inclusion

In 2020, we were witnesses to and participants in profound discussions of justice, equity, diversity and inclusion.  For this Spotlight call, we're interested in hearing how you and your studies have been impacted by these discussions.  For examples, how have conversations and current events around issues of justice, equity, diversity and inclusion:
  • Framed or changed the way you think about what you're studying?
  • Brought new awareness or context to your research and/or projects you've worked on?
  • Empowered you to bring your research to new communities, or to reach out to new collaborators?
We'll be awarding ten $100 grants for students and postdoctoral scholars with innovative approaches to and/or thoughtful commentary on justice, equity, diversity and inclusion.
