Graduate students completing an ASU graduate certificate or microcertificate may be eligible for admission to select master's degree programs without submitting an application.

About Graduate Earned Admission

Graduate Earned Admission provides a streamlined path for students pursuing a graduate certificate or microcertificate to continue their studies at ASU toward a master's degree. We review the academic achievements of qualified ASU students completing a graduate certificate or microcertificate and extend admission to participating master's degree programs. No application to the master's degree is required.

Graduate Earned Admission also offers a flexible pathway to graduate education for applicants who are not eligible for admission directly to a master’s degree.

  1. Find a participating master’s degree program for which you want to earn admission.

  2. Identify the graduate certificates and microcertificates mapped to your chosen master’s degree. Select the graduate certificate program that aligns with your interests and goals.
  3. Apply to your selected graduate certificate or microcertificate.
  4. Once admitted, register for and complete all of the certificate requirements.
  5. ASU reviews the academic achievements of qualified ASU students completing a graduate certificate or microcertificate and extends admission to participating master's degree programs. No application to the master’s degree is required.

Admission invitations are emailed to qualified ASU students completing a graduate certificate or microcertificate at the end of each semester. Students can accept or decline their personalized offer using a unique link provided in the email.

Participating programs

More than 75 on-campus and online ASU master's degree programs offer admission through Graduate Earned Admission. Programs that do not participate include highly competitive programs, programs with admission requirements that cannot be evaluated without reviewing application materials and doctoral programs. Admission availability varies by program, campus and semester. If you are interested in a program that does not offer Graduate Earned Admission, you are encouraged to apply using the graduate admission process.
